Overview
A relaxed-paced route designed for families. See elephants among Tarangire’s baobabs, tree-climbing lions at Lake Manyara, big cats on the Serengeti plains, and the Big Five inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Drive times are balanced with pool breaks and optional kid activities. Family rooms and inter-connecting tents are available; child seats and booster seats on request.
Itinerary (Day by Day)
Day 1: Arrive Arusha
Meet and greet at JRO/Arusha. Short transfer to your lodge. Safari briefing, dinner, and early night after the flight.
Overnight in Arusha.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire (about 2.5–3 hrs). Game drives among giant baobabs, elephant herds, giraffe, zebra, and plenty of birds. Afternoon rest by the pool.
Overnight in Tarangire area.
Day 3: Lake Manyara → Karatu
Short drive to Lake Manyara. Watch for tree-climbing lions, troops of baboons, and flamingos (seasonal). Picnic lunch at a scenic spot. Continue to Karatu for a relaxed evening.
Overnight in Karatu.
Day 4: Karatu → Serengeti via Ngorongoro Highlands
Scenic drive across the highlands, then descend onto the endless plains. Game drive en-route to camp. Optional stop at Olduvai Gorge (time permitting).
Overnight in Central Serengeti.
Day 5: Full Day Serengeti (Big Cats & Herds)
Unhurried morning and afternoon drives. Track lions and cheetah; follow seasonal herds. Return to camp for down time between drives.

Day 6: Serengeti at Your Pace
Optional sunrise start. Shorter drives for little ones or a longer loop for teens and photographers. Afternoon rest and stargazing after dinner.

Day 7: Serengeti → Ngorongoro Area
Morning game drive, then travel to the Ngorongoro area. Cooler evening with views over the crater or in Karatu’s countryside.
Overnight on the crater rim or in Karatu.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour → Arusha / Departure
Early descent to the crater floor for classic Big Five viewing. Picnic by the hippo pool. Ascend and drive back to Arusha for your onward flight—or add extra nights or a Zanzibar beach break.
